As one of Switzerland’s largest multidisciplinary universities of applied sciences, the Zurich University of Applied Sciences ZHAW has over 10,000 students and 2,500 faculty and staff.

The School of Applied Linguistics at the ZHAW invites applications for a part-time post (initially 60%) in the English Section of the Institute of Translation and Interpreting, commencing 1 August 2014.

Lecturer in English – part-time (60%-70%)

The position involves approximately ten hours of teaching per week primarily in the following disciplines:
- German-English (non-literary) translation
- Applied Linguistics (including text analysis and grammar theory)

You are of English mother tongue, are proficient in German, possess a post-graduate degree in Modern Languages, Translation Studies, and/or Applied Linguistics and have relevant experience of teaching in an academic environment. A teaching qualification, experience in course design and development and an interest in translation research would be a distinct advantage.

You are flexible, have good people skills and are able to work both independently and as part of a team.
