Description:

The Department of Linguistics at Swarthmore College invites applications for a one-year Visiting Assistant Professor position beginning in Fall 2014 for the 2014-2015 academic year. The teaching load is five courses over the academic year. Teaching experience is essential, as is the ability to teach several of the following: Intro. to Linguistics, Syntax, Morphology, Field Methods / Language Documentation, and possibly an advanced seminar in the candidate’s area of expertise.

Please submit (1) a letter of application, (2) a curriculum vitae, (3) a one-page statement of courses you would like to teach, and (4) the names, addresses, and email addresses of three recommenders. We will require applicants to have the PhD in hand before the beginning of the term of appointment.
