Université Paris 8 invites applications for a full-time position of Professeur de Universités in General and French Linguistics (the rank "Professeur des Universités" is roughly equivalent to Associate Professor or Full Professor in Anglo-Saxon tradition) in the Department of Linguistics, starting on October 1, 2014. The successful candidate will be expected to have an active scholarly research program in General and French Linguistics (phonology, syntax, semantics, pragmatics, morphology, acquisition) teach at the graduate and undergraduate level (4 courses per academic year), supervise graduate students, and engage in service on faculty and university committees.

- Candidates are required to possess the necessary didactic, organizational, and communicative skills for teaching to future teachers of French in secondary education.
- An international ‘profile' gained, for instance, through participation in research programs at institutions other than one's own, will be considered an asset.
