Meeting Description:

The intercultural rhetoric arc encompasses studies of cross-cultural text as sites of interactions in which writers and speakers with various linguistic, cultural, and social backgrounds negotiate communication in a multitude of settings – the classroom, business, industry, and health care, to name a few.

This conference seeks to integrate current discussions of intercultural competence in language education into intercultural rhetoric and discourse research and application in ESL, EFL, ESP, ELF, and foreign language teaching settings. Researchers and teachers of second/foreign languages as well as scholars in Second Language Acquisition, Communication, Composition, and Multicultural Education, among others, are encouraged to participate.
