The conference aims at investigating aspects of culture, language and literature in the context of a world made more mobile than ever before. Intercultural encounters accompanying the movement of individuals and groups receive a variety of expressions and call for a debate in an interdisciplinary context.

Conference Fees:

50% reduction for doctoral students
The conference fee covers: conference materials, coffee breaks, lunches, conference dinner, conference trip immediately following the conference, publication of the proceedings.

2nd Call for Papers:

The organizers of the conference wish to invite scholars in humanities, esp. literature, linguistics, communication, media, cultural studies, humour studies, translation and interpreting, teaching methodology, to a discussion on the broad subject of cultural neighbourhood, especially related to:

- Migration and narration
- Autobiography and identity
- The other in literature
- Minority cultures and literatures
- Dialectology
- Communication styles
- Pragmatics of intercultural communication
- English as an international lingua franca
- Creativity and tradition in cultural communication
- Communication in institutions
- Humour and irony in culture and society
- Cross-cultural aspects of translation and interpreting
- Language contacts
- Cultural and linguistic globalization
- Culture and the teaching of languages
- Global education, innovation in education

Conference languages: English (preferable).
In case other languages are used, extensive summaries in English are required.
Positively reviewed papers will be published in a conference proceedings volume (in English).
