Dear LINGUIST List subscribers,
I am Kenneth Steimel and I am a brand-new student editor here at LINGUIST List. I just finished my first year as a PhD student in African Linguistics. Working here, at the LINGUIST List, has made it much easier, financially, for me to continue my degree. I am being trained in the area of Calls & Conferences. I work to make sure that calls for papers and conference announcements are well structured and promptly posted. I also work to make sure that our information on calls for papers and conferences are current.
Your support is what keeps LINGUIST List running. A lot of the services we provide, including the area I work in, are free. This allows us to spread the word about conferences to a larger audience and advertise for a larger number of conferences. Without your donations, these services simply cannot function. We are very thankful to you for this reason.
If you can, please do your part to help us continue the services we provide. Even a small amount will help us toward our fund-raising goal for this year. We need your support. If you wish to donate please visit the link below:
We provide services that are invaluable to the linguistics community. You, members of the linguistics community, provide support that is invaluable to us. Please show your support for the LINGUIST List for the coming year.
Thank you, Kenneth Steimel Student Editor LINGUIST List
This year the LINGUIST List hopes to raise $79,000. This money will go to help keep the List running by supporting all of our Student Editors for the coming year.

The LINGUIST List is under the umbrella of Indiana University and
as such can receive donations through Indiana University Foundation. We
also collect donations via eLinguistics Foundation, a registered 501(c)
Non Profit organization with the federal tax number 45-4211155. Either
way, the donations can be offset against your federal and sometimes your
state tax return (U.S. tax payers only). For more information visit the
IRS Web-Site, or contact your financial advisor.
Many companies also offer a gift matching program, such that
they will match any gift you make to a non-profit organization.
Normally this entails your contacting your human resources department
and sending us a form that the Indiana University Foundation fills in
and returns to your employer. This is generally a simple administrative
procedure that doubles the value of your gift to LINGUIST, without
costing you an extra penny. Please take a moment to check if
your company operates such a program.
