	As doctoral students at Purdue University, we are
participating in a class project conducting a rhetorical analysis of
electronic forums. To assist us in understanding how LINGUIST
subscribers perceive the list and its role within the discipline of
linguistics, we ask interested subscribers to send us your views,
including your sense of the overall importance of LINGUIST, your
personal experience as a reader/contributer, and how discussion and
participation are shaped by the electronic nature of the forum.
