(1) On the St Pierre place in Rome there is the following inscription carved in a wall : "Msada wa kidini kwa mahujaji". I asked for help on the humanist e-list and somebody said it was in Swahili but no one gave me a translation. Anyone on this list ? Thanks, MarcMail to author|Respond to list|Read more issues|LINGUIST home page|Top of issue
As a linguist, I am working on the Spanish version of a speech recognition system and I'm looking for the following information: 1. a description and typology of Latin-American Spanish; 2. databases and dictionaries concerning these dialects; 3. socioeconomic-cultural data concerning a) computer usage in the corresponding countries (type, importance, predominant sectors of society where they are used, etc.), and b) attitudes and policies concerning access for the disabled, both government and private-sector.
