For a dissertation on metadiscourse about accuracy, I'm looking for information (especially references) on the meaning, scope, distribution, and/or use of hedges (such as, but not limited to, constructions like "kind of," "sort of," "like," and "or whatever") and also intensifiers (like "really" and "very," as well as related issues like the referential scope of words like "always" and "everyone").
