Our current projects include research in intelligent information retrieval, machine translation, software reuse techniques applied to modular NLP components, and spoken dialogue processing. We have a specific need for two junior researchers to do directed research and system development on a Japanese-English MT project and on the discourse component of a multi-modal user interface with emphasis on speech analysis. Successful applicants will have a strong background in parsing technology, preferably with experience in implementing real-time, broad-coverage natural language analysis and generation systems.
