SOCIOLINGUISTICS SYMPOSIUM 10 LANCASTER UNIVERSITY, ENGLAND March 23rd - 25th 1994 The next Sociolinguistics Symposium will be held in Lancaster in 1994. The theme for the symposium will be: "DISCOURSE: PRACTICES AND IDENTITIES Keynote Speakers: Peter Auer Charles Ferguson Shirley Brice Heath You are invited to submit abstracts on topics related to this general theme or to other sociolinguistic themes. Workshops will be organised around specific topics if there is sufficient interest. Proposals for workshops will also be welcome. The deadline for submission of abstracts is June 15th 1993.
