* * * CALL FOR PAPERS * * * on topics concerning the interrelationships between language, culture and society in the cases of English and Japanese 4th International Conference on Cross-Cultural Communication March 24-28, 1993 San Antonio, Texas I am interested in organizing a panel with the preliminary title, "Interrelationships between Language, Culture and Society: The Cases of English and Japanese." Although the deadline of submission of an abstract (December 18, 1992) differs from the one set for the Conference, I have been authorized by one of the program committee members to set a different deadline. Papers of interest include (but are not limited to) possible demonstrations of the following: shared principles of linguistic, cultural (and possibly social) organization; conceptual interfaces between language and culture; interrelationships between cultural identity and language use. Deadline for receipt of abstracts is December 18, 1992.
