The Department of Modern Languages and Literatures will organize the 27th edition of the Symposium of Students in English on 31 March - 1 April 2023. The event is open to both undergraduate and M.A. students who take an interest in research connected to:
Literatures in English
English language
English Language Teaching
Cultural studies (focus on English-speaking countries)
Popular culture in English
Gender studies (focus on English-speaking countries)
Media studies (focus on English-speaking countries)

Proposals for 20-minute presentations should be sent by 31 January 2023 by submitting an abstract of no more than 150 words to
https://forms.gle/YmpCzgUjA8B9egNj9 Submissions should include the name, affiliation, the presentation title, a short abstract and professional contact information for the presenter(s).
The conference will take place in Timișoara (Romania) and online on 31 March – 1 April 2023. The conference will be divided into online panels and face-to-face presentations. Participants will be asked for their preference upon registration, after the selection process is complete. We may be able to provide free shared accommodation in student dormitories for a number of participants from other universities, on a first come, first served basis. Accommodation details will be provided later.
A selection of the best papers presented at the symposium will be published in the Journal of Student Research in Languages and Literatures (JSRLL). More information here:
