I am posting this message for my colleague Phil Baldi: Is anyone aware of a software program that will generate permissible letter combinations which conform to morpheme structure conditions in English? Such a program could be used, for example, to create stimulus items for psycholinguistic tests. I have a vague recollection of some commercially available item, but can't find the source. Is there anything out there, either for a MAC or IBM? Please respond directly to Phil Baldi, Penn. I would like to know if there are programs available (commercial/ shareware) for various text-analysis tasks such as building frequency lists, concordances, etc. The one program I know is TACT. But since TACT has certain limitations, I'm interested in other programs as well. Please send messages to me. I'll summarize for the list. Does anyone have a contact address/fax/phone/email for Catspaw, Inc. (the people who were - in 1987 - marketing a version of SNOBOL4 for the IBM/PC. I have tried the address and phone number I have from that date with no success. Perhaps they are no longer in business? Are there any other PC SNOBOL4 processors around?
