A Japanese postgraduate student of mine is writing her dissertation on differences in politeness strategies between English and Japanese business letters. Unfortunately she doesn't have much "real" Japanese data, only textbooks on how to write good business letters in Japanese. Can anyone help? The student will do the translation - we just need the raw materials! Any topic is acceptable, as long as it falls within the definition of "business letter". A colleague of mine with no access to the net would like to have information on existing studies/projects concerning naming and word-finding problems in dysphasic children (children with a specific language disorder). These problems have been studied with, for example, learning disabled children, but she has not come across any research concerning dysphasic children. Specifically, she would be interested in suggestions for methods which could be applied to studying naming and word-finding problems in these children. Further, she would like to find out whether PET or MEG methods have been used for studying brain activity in children with a specific language disorder.
