28th International Conference on Salish and Neighboring Languages August 19-21, 1993 University of Washington Seattle, Washington INVITATION AND CALL FOR PAPERS The 28th International Conference on Salish and Neighboring Languages will be held August 19-21, 1993 at the University of Washington in Seattle, Washington. We urge you both to attend and to present a paper. Housing will be available from the office of Conference Housing and Special Services. If you want University housing and meal accommodations, please complete and return the enclosed Conference Housing Reservations form to the Conference Housing and Special Services office. ICSNL contributors should submit their manuscripts by June 10th for inclusion in the Working Papers for the Conference. Registrants will receive the preprinted papers by mail early in July. As is customary, the conference will consist of discussion of these papers. Late papers will be accommodated as conference time permits. Return the enclosed forms as early as possible. ******************************* 28th International Conference on Salish and Neighboring Languages Style Guidelines for Manuscripts Submitted to Working Papers Manuscripts must be camera-ready. They should be typed or printed in black on white, non-erasable, letter-sized paper (8-1/2" x 11" or 21.5 x 28 cm). Send the original ribbon copy, not a photoreproduction, fax, or other copy. All figures and tables must be in black ink only, within the stated margins. Nb. Papers that cannot be legibly reduced cannot be included in the preprints. 1. Margins: one-half inch (1.2 cm) at sides, top and bottom (reduction will produce larger margins). 2. Type: use pica or 12 point type. Take care that computer printouts you send are in a font at least as large as pica and that they will reproduce clearly when reduced by half. Reduce a sample of your manuscript by half to be sure that it is legible. 3. Spacing: use single spacing or one and a half line spacing; do not double space. 4. Page numbers: place page numbers only at bottom center; upper corners are to be reserved for running numbers for the entire volume of preprints. 5. Title: center the title on the first page.
