 II NATIONAL LINGUISTICS CONGRESS
 ASOCIACION MEXICANA DE LINGUISTICA APLICADA

 The Mexican Association of Applied Linguistics and El Colegio de
Mexico are organizing the II National Linguistics Congress, to take place
August 23-25, 1993, in El Colegio.
 In order to reflect adequately the research carried out in Mexico,
there will be sections for the different areas of linguistics (theoretical,
descriptive and applied), as well as for the interdisciplinary language
sciences. If there is sufficient interest in other topics, special sections
may be opened.
 All interested in participating in the congress are invited to send
an ABSTRACT of their proposed paper, maximum length 3 pages double-spaced,
before March 1, 1993, to the following address:

 The selection committees for each section of the congress will notify
prospective participants whether their papers are accepted during the month
of April. All abstracts of accepted papers will be published in a volume
given to those registering for the congress. At a later date the papers will
be published in their entirety.
 The registration fees are the following:
 Students
 Through May 31, 1993 N$15 (nuevos pesos mexicanos)
 After June 1, 1993 N$30
 Others
 Through May 31, 1993 N$50
 After June 1, 1993 N$75
