re: Academy of Aphasia. I have just been informed that "to attend the Academy of Aphasia meeting as a nonmember and as a nonpresenter, the tradition has been to use a guest pass to do so (although the informer has no idea of what guest passes are still available, and I have no idea waht guest passes are). (Which shows how much the Chair of the Board knows). Anyway, in addition, hotel reservations were to have been made by Sept 23rd. However, if you are still dying to attend, let me know and I will see what I can do. And, for your information, the 1994 meeting of the Academy will be be held at the Hyatt Regency Cambridge, MA Oct 23 - 25, 1994. If you are interested in getting material on the meeting or on the academy let me know. Vicki FromkinMail to author|Respond to list|Read more issues|LINGUIST home page|Top of issue
A reminder for those who liked the idea of celebrating World Linguistics Day on the day of the invention of the Korean alphabet (an early outstanding achievement of our discipline): "World Linguistics Day" (Korean Alphabet Day) is on October 9th! (P.S. If you are in the Chicago area: I'm sure there'll be a party on that occasion.) Martin HaspelmathMail to author|Respond to list|Read more issues|LINGUIST home page|Top of issue
