Could any one provide me with references for syntactic analyses
of verb-second phenomena of so-called V2 languages (especially
German) which make use of extended phrase structure schema (such
as CP, IP, or AgrP, TenseP etc.)? One of my students would like
to look at the literature on this; We would be very grateful for
any references.Thanks.

Who was the originator of the linguistic proverb "All grammars
leak", and in what context?

I feel as if I must be the only linguist who doesn't remember
this, so please answer to me directly and I will summarize to the
list for the sake of... whoever is the only *other* linguist who
doesn't remember!

I am looking for studies of intra-sentential code-switching in
West Germanic languages (other than English), particularly
between two languages with different underlying word orders:
head-initial IP/VP (like the Scandinavian languages and Yiddish)
and head-final IP/VP (like German and Dutch).

Any references will be greatly appreciated.
