For my dissertation on zero anaphora, I would appreciate suggestions for references. I am concentrating on pragmatics aspects in Nepali, but all suggestions (references on structure and/or on languages other than Nepali) are welcome. Please reply to my temporary e-mail address (below), and I shall post a summary later. Thank you. Does anyone have any references for acquisition work on sentential negation in French. In addition to general issues, I'm particularly interested in finding out whether children acquiring French as L1 go through a stage of saying things like (1), i.e., strings in which *pas* and other negatives, e.g., *jamais*, *plus*, *rien*, *personne*, cooccur: (1) a. Marie (ne) pleure pas jamais (M. never cries) b. Je (n') pas plus faim (I'm no longer hungry) c. Michel (n')a pas rien fait (M. did nothing) d. Je (ne) vois pas personne (I can't see anyone) Thanks, Paul Rowlett Department of Modern Languages University of Salford Salford M5 4WT England Tel: (44) 61 745 5990 Fax: (44) 61 745 5335Mail to author|Respond to list|Read more issues|LINGUIST home page|Top of issue
I am posting this on behalf of Arvind Bhatt, currently teaching a course on Gujarati at this university, but not a subscriber to LINGUIST. He is trying to compile a list of references on Gujarati, including - suitable teaching texts - linguistic descriptions/reference works - history of the language All contributions will be gratefully received. Thank you. Mark Sebba Lancaster UniversityMail to author|Respond to list|Read more issues|LINGUIST home page|Top of issue
Question-has anyone seen or does anyone have a copy of the proceedings for the FLSM II held in Ann Arbor in 1991? I allegedly have a paper in that volume but: (a) have never seen it, and (b) need the page #'s of my article in that volume for reference purposes. Thanks to anyone who can help!
