The University of North Carolina invites applications for a phonologist.
This is a tenure track position for an entry level assistant professor; it
will begin July 1, 1994. Candidates should send a cv, letters of

I am filling out a request for a visiting American Citizen Scholar
for the 1995 Fall. If anyone (speaking Portuguese or Spanish) would
like to be considered, please contact me.

We would like a scholar to teach primarily a graduate seminar (3 hours
per week), in any advanced area of linguistics or applied linguistics:
(Psycholinguistics, Ethnolinguistics, Dialectology, Sociolinguistics,
Language Teaching), plus participating in ongoing colloquium, which
may require public lectures.
We have a Master Degree Program in Letters with Plans in Lusophone
Literatures and in Portuguese Language.
Londrina is a medium size city in the southern state of Parana, away
from Sao Paulo about 250 miles, with 500,000 people, about 60 years
old. Our university, 22, has today about 12,000 students, in all
areas. We have a Graduate School with ten M.A. programs and onee
Ph.D. program. City is well served by hospitals, and has a very
interesting skyline, due do vertical growth in recent years.
