I cannot get a hold of Mayrhofer's 1986 comparative IE grammar
and am hoping that someone who has a copy would be willing to
email me before Thursday about one point he discusses. As
I recall, he claims that Sanskrit has ir vs. ur for IE syllabic
r and l based on which of the three kinds of IE velars comes
before that. But I do not remember the specifics beyond that,
such as the forms he cites. Again, if someone could help
with this before Thursday, I would be very grateful.
