Topics of interest for papers comprise all problems of measurement,
analysis, interpretation and classification of linguistic data,
epistemological and methodological issues of defining linguistics units,
operationalizition of theoretical concepts and empirical testing of
linguistic hypotheses.

 Subject: CONFERENCE ON HUNGARIAN - CALL FOR PAPERS

The 2nd Conference on "The Structure of Hungarian: Contemporary
Approaches" will be held April 10-12, 1994, Szeged, Hungary.
 Following the success of the 1st Conference at the Indiana
University, Bloomington, and the proceedings published in Vol. 4.
of Approaches to Hungarian, this meeting of linguists working on
or interested in Hungarian will address issues of the interaction
of grammatical levels.
 The conference is scheduled immediately after the 17th GLOW
Colloquium in Vienna (April 6-8, 1994).
 Each 20-minute talk (altogether cca. 25 presentations) will be
followed by a 10-minute discussion period in five consecutive
sessions. The language of the conference is English. One-page
abstracts should be postmarked by December 31, 1993, and sent to:
