The tenured position of Professor (C3) of English Linguistics will become available from 1 August 1995 in the English Department of the Westfaelische Wilhelms-Universitaet Muenster, Germany. Candidates should possess a sound general knowledge of English linguistics. Preference will be shown to those candidates with research and teaching interests in the following areas: - spoken language - technical language - sociolinguistics / dialectology. Conditions of employment are in accordance with paragraph 49 WissHG of the State of North-Rhine Westfalia. The English Department is seeking to increase the number of women on its academic staff. The Department of Linguistics at the State University of New York at Buffalo wishes to fill a tenure-track position, to begin in August, 1995. We are seeking a person with a specialization in SEMANTICS and secondary specialization in at least one other area of linguistics. Experience working with primary linguistic data, e.g. fieldwork, is highly desirable. The successful applicant will be expected to contribute to Cognitive Science at UB. He/she will be expected to teach introductory and advanced courses at the undergraduate and graduate levels. Ph.D must be completed no later than September 1, 1995.
