 The Fourth Bar-Ilan Symposium on
 Foundations of Artificial Intelligence

 Commemorating
 The Scientific Works of Yehoshua Bar-Hillel (1915-1975)

 June 20-22, 1995
 Ramat-Gan and Jerusalem, Israel

 Bar-Ilan University, Ramat-Gan

 Hebrew University, Jerusalem

 in cooperation with

 Israel Association for Artificial Intelligence
 The Association for Mathematics of Language
 Israeli Association for Theoretical Linguistics

 The focus of BISFAI '95 will be on

 Natural Languages and Artificial Intelligence
 Philosophical and Computational Aspects

The Symposium will, however, retain its broad scope, and welcomes high
quality research papers in various areas of Artificial Intelligence,
including machine learning, automated reasoning, knowledge
representation, neural nets, etc.

Paper Submission: Submit three copies of extended abstract (4-10 pages),
or full paper, by 1st February 1995, to:

Authors will be notified of acceptance by 20th March 1995. A final

 CALL FOR PAPERS
 INTERNATIONAL LINGUISTIC ASSOCIATION
 GEORGETOWN UNIVERSITY, WASHINGTON DC, MARCH 10-12, 1995

The 40th Annual Conference of the ILA will be held from 1 p.m. Friday, through
Sunday noon, March 10-12, 1995 in the Intercultural Center, Georgetown Universi
ty, Washington DC. Theme: Discourse and Text Analysis. The American Dialect
Society will present a concurrent session.

Papers from ALL areas of linguistics, both theoretical and applied,
are invited.

One-page abstracts, double-spaced, camera-ready, in 7 copies should be sent to
the Conference Chair, Dr. Ruth Brend, 3363 Burbank Dr., Ann Arbor, MI48105. (te

On an accompanying 3x5 card, include your addresses, telephone number, academic
 affiliation and the amount of time desired (no more than 20 minutes).
Abstracts must be received by January 4, 1995.

Registration fees (US funds only):
Before March 1, 1995 (preregistration by mail):
 professional member $30; student member $20
 professional non-member $40; student non-member $30
After March 1, 1995 and on-site:
 professional member $40; student member $30
 professional non-member $50; student non-member $40

Linguistic Association to Professor Ruth Brend.

Accommodations may be reserved directly with the Leavey Center of Georgetown
University at the rate of $109 single and $124 double per day:
