Subject: Are the Japanese particles "clitics?"

Dear subscribers,

I am now working on the Japanese particles. I am wondering about whether they
are clitics or not. I remember I have read an article which said so, but I
forgot the title and the author of that article. As for me, I don't think they
are clitics. But, unfortunately, I have not found any articles about this topic
yet. So, if you have any information about it, will you send a messsage to me?
I appreciate your kind help.

Thanks.

From: <bertocchiecn01.cineca.it>
Subject: Papers on Almost

I am desperately seeking the following papers:
1. Tonisson I.J., A semantics for Almost, Unpubl.manuscript, Stanford Univ.
2. Hienanaki Orvokki (1975), Almost, in Even Hovdhangen (ed.), Papers from the
Second Scandinavian Conference of Linguistics, Lysebu.

Can anybody help me?

Please, send replies directly to me.

From: Elizabeth Hume <ehumeling.ohio-state.edu>
Subject: Vowel harmony

We are compiling a database of vowel harmony/assimilation
processes, e.g.
 vowel to vowel assimilation
 vowel to consonant assimilation
 consonant to vowel assimilation

We are asking for the names of languages, with reference(s), if
possible. Well-known as well as lesser-known cases are welcome,
published or unpublished.

Please respond to fparkinsling.ohio-state.edu

Thank you,

The Comparative Romance Linguistics Newsletter is seeking a
