Le Departement d'Etudes francaises de l'Universite Queen's a Kingston
met en concours un poste au rang de professeur adjoint pouvant conduire
a la permanence. Les candidat(e)s devront detenir un doctorat et
pouvoir demontrer leur aptitude a la recherche et leur efficacite dans
l'enseignement a tous les niveaux.

Le departement cherche des candidat(e)s possedant des qualifications en
linguistique (de preference en syntaxe).

CSULA announces a tenure-track position in Japanese to start Fall, 1995.
Assistant or Associate level. Ph.D./ABD in Japanese or a closely-related
field. Native/near native in Japanese; fluent English. Teach all levels of
language as well as courses in civilization, linguistics, or literature.
Position requires excellence in university teaching, knowledge of
competency-based instruction, and willingness to participate in program
development. Although any specialization will be considered, linguistics is
preferred. Send a letter of application and 3 letters of recommendation to
Joseph Chrzanowsky, Chair, Modern Languages and Literatures, at the above

I'm very sorry about the short notice on this job. It's not the fault
of the Foreign Language department; I just got so backed up with work
that I couldn't get over there and get the job description!

SPANISH/APPLIED LINGUISTICS
(Tenure-track, Assistant Professor)

Teach all levels of Spanish language and composition
and coordinate first and second year language
classes.

Qualifications: Ph.D.; native, near-native flluency
required; strong emphasis on secondary methods a
plus; subspecialty in either Latin-American
Literature, Mexican-American Literature, or Spanish
for Business preferred.

Starting date: Aug. 1995.

Closing Date: Screening will begin November 15,
1994.
