The position of Lecturer (lektor) in English Language will become available
from 1 September 1995 at the English Department of the Faculty of Arts,
University of Iceland in Reykjavik. This is a 48% teaching post, 12%
administration and 40% research.
Initial salary $16,000 to $18,000 p.a.
Applications are invited from specialists in English Linguistics, and
preference will be shown to candidates with research and teaching interests
in General and Applied Linguistics. Applicants should submit a complete
dossier, including letter of application, full details of academic
qualifications and employment, transcripts of qualifications, copies of
publications and papers delivered or in preparation, and a statement of the
areas of research the candidate proposes to undertake as part of her/his
duties, to: Starfsmannasvid, University of Iceland, Sudurgotu, 101
Reykjavik, Iceland, before 30th December 1994.

Assistant Professor of TESL
and Applied Linguistics

Central Missouri State University
Department of English & Philosophy,
Warrensburg, MO 64093

Assistant Professor of Teaching English as a Second
Language and Applied Linguistics. Replacement position to
start January 2 and run until May 15, 1995. Pending
approval anticipated tenure track opening for the Fall of
1995. ABD or Ph.D. Interest in teaching and classroom-
research in linguistics, TESL methodology, and applied
linguistics in a developing MA-TESL program and academic
ESL courses. 12 hour teaching load. Salary approximately
$15,000 for one semester depending on qualifications. Send
letter of application describing specialization, vita,
transcripts, and three letters of recommendation by
December 1, 1994 to David Smith, Chair. Applications
