A friend sent me excerpts from your discussion of languages in the
Sudan. I thought you might be interested to know that the Center for
Arab and Islamic Studies and the Africana Center at Villanova University
are hosting the 14th annual meeting of the Sudan Studies Association
from 1 p.m. Thursday, May 4 through Saturday, May 6. An interesting
panel could be developed on the theme of your discussion, if any of
you are interested. I need to receive paper and panel abstracts by
mid-January. They can be sent by email or by snail mail to Professor

 Villanova is located ten miles west of Philadelphia, PA and is
easily accessible by car and train as well as being near the Philadel-
phia airport. A reception is planned for Thursday evening and a banquet
(hopefully with Sudanese music) for Friday evening and a lunch for
Saturday. Rooms are reserved at the nearby Radnor Hotel, 591 East
Lancaster Avenue, St. Davids, PA at the special rate of $89.00 for
single or double occupancy, plus 8% tax. Participants should make
reservations directly with the hottel at (610) 341-3500 before April
13, 1995.
