Message 2: Blues at LSA?

Date: Wed, 14 Dec 1994 20:17:27 Blues at LSA?
From: Dan Everett <deverisp.pitt.edu>
Subject: Blues at LSA?

At the risk of seeming frivolous, I would like to ask if there are
linguists out there interested in playing the blues, rock (60's
preferred, but most types OK), and/or country at the LSA meetings in
New Orleans.

If you are interested in jamming, let me know. I will try to find
space at the Fairmont Hotel. If too many reply, we can manage that by
holding auditions (not really). If not enough, no management problem.

Let me know if you are interested. If you do respond, let me know what
instrument you play and whether or not you sing. Some idea about
repertoire would also be helpful.

It is always nice after a hard day of listening to talks to relax by
playing some Lightnin' Hopkins, Willie Nelson, or Buffalo Springfield,
etc. Both functionalists and formalist musicians are invited to
respond.
