Langues et Grammaires - I Universite de Paris - 8 23-25 June 1994 The Department of Linguistics of the Universite Paris-8 wishes to organise, on an annual basis, an International Conference where contributions on the recent developments of Linguistic Theory in the domains of Syntax, Semantics, Phonology and Morphology would be presented. This year, the Conference will be held on June 23, 24 and 25. Submission Information: Submit three anonymous copies, accompanied by a camera-ready copy, bearing Author's Name, Address, and Affiliation. Abstracts should not exceed two pages, for a 45 minute talk. Institute of Language and Communication and The Danish Network in Foreign Language Pedagogy 1st Announcement Research Symposium on Conversational analysis of foreign language data. Odense University, Denmark, June 22nd to 26th, 1994 Invited speakers: Jack Bilmes, Gail Jefferson, Alan Firth, Harrie Mazeland, Michael Moerman, J~rgen Streeck Despite extended research on communication in a foreign language, few aspects of methodology have been discussed. The Symposium aims at a discussion of the methodological problems in the microanalysis of foreign language data, be it a foreign language for the speaker, a foreign language for the researcher, or either. Only invited speakers will be given time to present a paper or to conduct a workshop. Other participants are invited to distribute and discuss their contributions in an extended poster session. Papers of the invited speakers and a selection of papers from the poster session will be published.
