I inquired about conversion of Japanese text from Macintosh to MS-DOS. Two people replied, and their answers are substantially the same: Both Macintosh and MS-DOS use Shift-JIS encoding for Japanese, so all that is necessary is plain-text file conversion from Mac to PC format (including CR-LF [carriage return - linefeed] conversion). Apple's own Apple File Exchange will do this on a Mac and write the output to an MS-DOS disk. Thanks to: Y.
