I requested information concerning graduate programs that either
focused on publishing/editing or combined the study of literature
and linguistics. A summary of the responses follows. Thanks
to all who responded.

Northwestern University, Chicago
Supposed to have a good program for people interested in
careers in publishing/editing.
(Alice Horning <Horningargo.acs.oakland.edu>)

NYU & Howard University
Have summer programs in publishing.
Tennessee Tech has an extensive technical writing
program in which it is possible to secure an M.A. focusing on
writing/editing.
(Alan Slotkin <ars7950tntech>)

The University of South Carolina
It would apparently be quite feasable for someone to come here
and mix the study of English literature with linguistics for
their doctoral program.
(Stanley Dubinsky <dubinskunivscvm.csd.scarolina.edu>)

?
We have a combined Lit/Ling BA and MA.
Eugene Shing Chan <eugenesits.iiu.MY>

Clemson U. (Clemson, SC)
Offers the MAPC degree within
the English Dept. (MAPC=Masters in Professional Communication).
Unclear to what extent publishing is covered, but editing is covered.
(Amoena Norcross <ANORCROSStricty.tricounty.tec.sc.us>)

University of Helsinki
Has a grad program that allows you to combine
English lit and linguistics, in
the Department of English.
