The Innovationskolleg 'Formale Modelle kognitiver Komplexitaet' (Formal models of cognitive complexity) at the University of Potsdam needs to fill a half-time position in psycholinguistics. The Innovationskolleg is one of seven similar institutions financed by the German National Science Foundation with the goal of promoting research activities in the Eastern part of the country. It is linked to the departments of linguistics and psychology, and it will be financed until July 1997, with the option for a two-year prolongation thereafter. Applicants should be able to do experimental work in the domain of sentence processing, including, e.g., reading time studies, training studies, etc. There is some possibility for training on the job, but some basic experience and some knowledge of statstical methods is necessary. The monthly salary is approx. DM 1,500, depending on age and marital status.
