Vacancy for salaried PhD-studentship at Nijmegen University Requirements: MA degree or equivalent entitling to PhD study in general or theoretical linguistics. Good knowledge of computational linguistics and/or language technology. The candidate must be primarily interested in the theory of grammar and techniques and rule systems for the generation and parsing of natural language sentences in relation to sentence semantics. The primary purpose of the project will be a further elaboration of the rule systems that map semantic structures onto grammatical structures and their implementation, applied to at least one natural language. The project leader is prof. Pieter A.M. Seuren, in the Department of General Linguistics at Nijmegen University, in close collaboration with Dr, Peter Arno Coppen, Department of Language and Speech of the same university. The project will be incorporated into the Research Institute RCentre for Language StudiesS (CLS), of the universities of Nijmegen and Brabant (Tilburg).
