JOB NOTICE: The Department of English and the Program in Linguistics at Iowa State University announce a tenure-track position at the assistant professor level, subject fo final budgetary approval, beginning August 20, 1996. We are seeking someone with experience in applied linguistics who will play an important role in a program that includes a BA in Linguistics and an MA in TESL/Linguistics and that is exploring a Ph.D. in Applied Linguistics. Prefer candidates with expertise and publication record in discourse analysis/pragmatics and experience in using technology innovatively in language teaching/research. Candidates should also be prepared to teach introductory courses (including syntax and phonology) to linguistics, TESL, and English undergraduates and graduates. Ph.D. required.
