Associate Lecturer/Lecturer in TSL (limited term) The Centre for Language Learning and Teaching (CLLT) at the University of Southern Queensland offers courses in English as a second language and University Preparatory (UNIPREP) courses. It also offers, through the Faculty of Education, postgraduate courses in the area of teaching second languages and some staff members are also involved in LOTE teacher training for primary and secondary schools. As a member of staff of CLLT you will be required to: -develop appropriate programs for the computer-assisted language learning activities and units to be offered by the Centre - contribute to the postgraduate certificate and diploma courses in teaching second languages by teaching in the area of computer assisted language learning and one or more of the following areas: second language curriculum development, teaching methodology, introduction to language, bilingualism and multiculturalism, language testing. - teach in the ELICOS/UNIPREP programs, if necessary. If appointed at Associate Lecturer level the successful applicant will have an honours degree or higher qualification, an extended professional degree, or a three year degree with a postgraduate diploma. The person will also have experience and/or qualifications in CALL. If appointed at Lecturer level, the successful applicant will have a minimum of a master degree and/or postgraduate qualification in CALL and teaching second languages. Possession of, or advanced progresss towards a PhD qualification is desirable, as well as a good publication and research record. Limited term position until 31 December 1997.
