Dear members of LINGUIST, I am doing my paper now, the subject is about television drug commercials. I am using sociolinguistic approach, but I have difficulties in finding any references. Also, I would like to get any comment and suggestion about my study. Thanks, LilyMail to author|Respond to list|Read more issues|LINGUIST home page|Top of issue
Sir/Madam, I am trying to find if there are any on-line sources of vocabulary for languages in an IPA, or IPA compatible, format. I am seeking this on behalf of a (less computer literate) colleague, whose area is comparative linguistics. He is seeking langauges from a great many groups, not confined to the well documented ones such as Indo-european. If you have any hints or suggestions where we might go to find such data, or for him to share what data he possesses, please email me on: BobwhouseMail to author|Respond to list|Read more issues|LINGUIST home page|Top of issueeworld.com or 100414.1247

Hello, I would like to know if for other languages beyond English there are created thesauri of the WordNet type, or are in the process of creation. We intend to create one for Estonian.
