Content-Length: 1480 Has anyone been doing analytical modeling of the physics of speech production? I am posting this question on behalf of an acquaintance who is an expert on aeroacoustic sound modeling, i.e., developing mathematical theories which predict the sound produced by unsteady fluid flows such as boundary layers, jets, vortices, flow through constrictions, etc. He has become interested in applying his mathematical techniques to model speech production, but would like to know the state of the art in this area. Any recent references or contacts will be much appreciated. -------------------------------------------------------------- Please do not reply to me, but to Michael Howe at mshoweMail to author|Respond to list|Read more issues|LINGUIST home page|Top of issueenga.bu.edu
Content-Length: 1242 Dear fellow linguists, I am looking for a software that allows for creation of a dictionary i.e. provides a skeleton for writing a dictionary in the right dictionary format. I would be really thankful if you could provide me with site addresses where such a package is available. I believe there is a package but it is for the MAC and does not work under DOS. If there are enough responses I'll post a summary. Thanks in advance. Raymond doctorMail to author|Respond to list|Read more issues|LINGUIST home page|Top of issueparcom.ernet.in
Hello, Linguists! I would like to know the best way to obtain phonetic symbols to use with Microsoft Word (version 6.0) on a Macintosh. Is there a font package one (or one's employer) can buy and install? I would appreciate any help available. Content-Length: 1265 Could someone please let me know whether the proceedings of the 4th and 5th annual Japanese/Korean Linguistics Conferences have been published, and if they have, the name of the publisher(s), price, and ISBN number. Our library has vols. 1-3, and I would like to have them order subsequent volumes, but I have to provide the above details. Thanks in anticipation. Wayne Lawrence. Wayne P.
