JOB ANNOUNCEMENTT Tenure-Track Position in the Teaching of English as a Second or Foreign Language The Department of Languages and Linguistics in the Faculty of Letters at Laval University is inviting applications for a tenure-track faculty position in Teaching English a s a Second or Foreign Language (TESL/TEFL). The position must be filled by January 1, 1996. Full-time position. Hiring conditions and salary in accordance with current collective agreement between Laval University and the Laval University faculty union. DESCRIPTION OF POSITION Teaching in the English as a Second Language and English Language and Linguistics programs, especially courses on the teaching of English at the elementary, secondary, and adult levels. Research in the discipline; supervision of graduate students. GENERAL QUALIFICATIONS Ph.D. in a related field with specialization in TESL or TEFL. Expertise in measurement and evaluation or in second language acquisition will be considered an asset. Experience in teaching English as a second or foreign language at elementary or secondary school level as well as university teaching experience. Research and publications in the discipline. Aptitude for team work. Native proficiency in English and excellent knowledge of French. Applications should be received no later than September 15, 1995, and will be kept strickly confidential.
