Sageware, Inc. is looking for a Senior Knowledge Engineer/Architect to help define and develop knowledge domains (subject areas) for use in our line of software products for intelligent information finding. You will be responsible for defining the scope of the domain, organizing the knowledge for that domain using proprietary tools, working with knowledge acquisition specialists to gather information from experts and pre-existing knowledge sources, and defining maintenance and QA procedures for the repositories that encode the domain knowledge. Familiarity with the concepts of information retrieval and formal techniques for organizing knowledge is essential. Experience with subject domains of interest to us, such as business and industry, health sciences, geo-political issues, computers and technology, and travel and leisure, would be an advantage. Experience with computer-based tools for knowledge development and testing is also an advantage. The position also requires extensive interaction with our customers, and some travel to customer sites thoughout the U.S. Candidates should have a master's level qualification in Computer Science, Information/Library Sciences, and/or Linguistics and have worked for at least 3 years in a production or service environment that focuses on the delivery of specialized information to end-users.
