Schwartz Paul Smolensky This, the third of the GALA conferences on Language Acquisition, will be held at the University of Edinburgh in 1997. Building on the success of its predecessors (Groningen 1995, Durham 1993), this conference aims to encourage a spirit of dialogue between linguistically-oriented and psychologically-oriented researchers. Abstracts of 20-minute papers, or posters, are invited on any aspect of first or second language acquisition including: syntax phonetics and phonology morphology semantics cognitive modelling psycholinguistics Send (a) three anonymous, hard-copy, one-page abstracts, (b) one camera-ready copy with name and affiliation, (c) a separate sheet with your postal address, telephone and fax numbers, and email address to: GALA '97 HCRC, University of Edinburgh 2 Buccleuch Place Edinburgh EH8 9LW Scotland State your preference for an oral or a poster presentation.
