hello, i am doing my ph.d from univ. of hyderabad, india. i am working on the 'turn-taking techniques' for my thesis. i am concentrating on the data from Telugu films - most of them being adaptations. so far i have covered the peripheral areas to some extent ie the history of films, film theories, theories of adaptations, telugu litt. etc. i would like to get in touch with people working in similar fields especially those who have written on turn-taking or conversations in general. it will be of much help to me. thank you. ********************************************************************** Radhika Mamidi [KBCS Div.] radhikaMail to author|Respond to list|Read more issues|LINGUIST home page|Top of issuekonark.ncst.ernet.in NCST, Gulmohar Rd 9, Juhu, Bombay 49. Dear Linguists, Many write and many say that fricative+stop clusters practically never become affricates. This does happen though in child language: s+t->ts. Do you know of any "adult" language that does this or something similar? If I get something I will share it with you. I would be interested in receiving advice or ideas about how to calculate MLU for Spanish. The literature is not in agreement, and I'm finding it fairly sticky to do analyses without inflating the MLU count. Any ideas would be appreciated.
