The following may be of interest to those LINGUIST subscribers who are
planning on attending the upcoming LSA Annual Meeting in Chicago (Jan.
2-5). The much-heralded Edgar Degas exhibit ("Beyond Impressionism")
will be on display from September 30th through JANUARY 5TH, 1997 at
the Art Institute of Chicago (independently worth visiting, of
course), located on S. Michigan Avenue, about 10 blocks from the
Sheraton.

Advance tickets are highly recommended. Tickets bought at the museum
ticket office are $8 (M-Th) and $10 (F,S,S). Tickets may also be
bought by phone (1-800-929-5800) for an additional $2.75 charge per
ticket. All tickets are for specific dates and times (1/2 hour
intervals). Admission to the special exhibit includes general
admission to the Art Institute.
