Call for Papers: Kentucky Foreign Language Conference Linguistics Sessions The 50th annual Kentucky Foreign Language Conference will be held on April 17-19, 1997, at the University of Kentucky in Lexington. The conference will include sessions devoted to theoretical and descriptive linguistics, sociolinguistics, and applied linguistics, including special sessions this year on theory and practice related to English as a Second Language (ESL) and Second Language Acquisition (SLA). ENGLISH : Call for papers 1st Conference of Doctoral Students in Linguistics at the Universite Lumire Lyon 2 29-31 May 1997, University Campus, Bron The object of this conference is to promote exchanges among young linguists working in fields such as synchrony and diachrony in African linguistic, language acquisition, conversational studies, linguistics and computer science, language loss or death, lexicology and semantics. The conference is open to all doctoral students as well as young doctors recently qualified in linguistics. Those wishing to present a paper are requested to send an anonymous 3-page A4 maximum abstract of their paper (along with a personal data sheet giving the presenter's name, position and affiliation), closing date 15 January 1997. The abstract must give a description of the theoretical framework, the method, hypotheses and findings to be presented in the paper. Ce colloque a pour but de favoriser les de echanges entre doctorants en Sciences du langage, travaillant dans des domaines tels que la synchronie et la diachronie en linguistique bantoue, l'acquisition du langage, l'analyse conversationnelle, linguistique et informatique, perte et mort de langue, etc. Le colloque est ouvert tous les doctorants et jeunes docteurs en Sciences du langage.
