RESEARCH ASSISTANT SCHOOL OF ENGLISH THE UNIVERSITY OF LEEDS The above post is available from 1 January 1997, or as soon as possible thereafter, for a fixed period of twelve months to work on the Leeds Corpus of English Dialects project, funded by the Leverhul me Trust. The aim of the project is to transcribe and edit for publication the unique collection of the Survey of English Dialects tape-recordings held at the School of English. The post may be held either full-time, or on a job-share basis. Applicants should have at least a higher degree in English Language or Linguistics. Interest in Dialectology and Language Variation studies, and basic computing skills are essential. Salary will be stlg14,317 p.a. pro rata (under review) on the scale for research staff grade 1B.
