Annual IATL Meeting: First Call for Abstracts The next annual meeting of the Israeli Association for Theoretical Linguistics (IATL) will take place on June 2-3, 1997, at Bar Ilan University. The guest speaker will be Mark Baker of McGill University. Submissions are invited of abstracts of papers presenting high quality, unpublished original research in all areas of theoretical linguistics. Abstracts should be no longer than two pages (excluding figures, references, etc.), and are limited to one per author (two per coauthor). The abstract should not indicate names of authors. A separate author identification, including e-mail address if available, should accompany the abstract. Abstracts should be submitted no later than March 1, 1997, and sent in eight copies to: IATL Committee Bar Ilan University, Ramat Gan, 52900 Israel. CALL FOR PAPERS CALL FOR PAPERS CALL FOR PAPERS TINTA Y SOMBRA the annual literary review of the Graduate Students Association Department of Spanish and Portuguese University of Toronto is now accepting submissions of scholarly articles, creative writing, and artworks for the 1997 issue. Submissions may be in any of the of the Hispanic languages, English, or French. Scholarly articles should address Hispanic Literature, Culture, and Linguistics. - Articles (no more than 10 double-spaced pages) must follow the latest MLA format, with endnotes and a list of works cited. - Prose should not exceed 6 double-spaced pages; poetry, five single-spaced pages - Artwork and photography must be photo-ready, 8.5 x 14 maximum, black and white (also saved as TIF, EPS or GIF files) Please send three copies of the original manuscript as well as a copy on disk (3.5" PC-compatible WP5.1 or higher). Hard copies must include the author's name in the upper right-hand corner of each page. Include a self-addressed stamped envelope if you would like your manuscript returned.
