We'd like to remind readers that the responses to queries are usually
best posted to the individual asking the question. That individual is
then strongly encouraged to post a summary to the list. This policy was
instituted to help control the huge volume of mail on LINGUIST; so we
would appreciate your cooperating with it whenever it seems appropriate.

Subject: Vowel problems of Arabic speakers of English
I'm a student at Eotvos University, Budapest, and I'm
currently working on a paper on Vowel problems of Arabic speakers of
English. Apart from the huge amount of empirical work, I would like to
have some theoretical data as well. I was wondering if you could send
me any information concerning the topic, or tell me about information
sources either on the net or elsewhere. Thank you for your time.

Subject: Noun number categories
Hi!
I'm interested in an overview of the range of semantic possibilities
for noun number categories across languages. Does anyone out there
know of a good article, book chapter, etc.?
Thanks,
Alex Schaffert
