LANGUAGES: AN INTERDISCIPLINARY FORUM 4-6 APRIL, 1997 School of Languages, University of Melbourne, Australia The aim of the 1997 conference, "Languages: An Interdisciplinary Forum", is to promote discourse between postgraduates working in any area of language studies (literary theory, linguistics, applied linguistics, literature, etc.) reflecting the multifaceted composition of the School of Languages. We anticipate that the conference's programme will truly emphasise the interdisciplinary nature of the study of languages and provide a stimulating and supportive atmosphere for discussion. Proposals for papers (of 20 minutes duration plus 10 minutes discussion) should consisit of a 200 word abstract and be accompanied by a completed registration form and the appropriate fees.
