	First Summer Language Course at the University of
			Evora-PORTUGAL
 		 DATE: 1--26 OF JULY

	At the University of Evora offers a Portuguese Language Summer
Course this school year from the 1st up to the 26th of July. Actually
it is its first Summer Course. So do not think twice and enroll at
once. We are expecting students from the all world.
	The University of Evora-PORTUGAL- is in the south facing the
Atlantic Ocean and near the Mediterranean Sea, only a few hours from
Moroco and even "fewer" hours from Spain.
	Our university is the second oldest university of Portugal and
it has a a long humanistic tradition. The discoverer VASCO DA GAMA had
a house in Evora. Today we can still visit it and admire the paintings
of sea monsters and mermaids of course. At the present time the
University of Evora, although small in dimension, includes in its
plans of study almost all the fields of knowledge: languages,
astrophysics,agriculture,pedagogical sciences,veterinary,social and
human sciences like sociology and next year we will start a new
graduations degree PORTUGUESE AND AFRICAN STUDIES.

			GENERAL INFORMATION 

Conditions of Enrolment:To be over 17 years old
	No previous knowledge or certificate is required
Teachers/Lecturers: The courses will be taught by Professors of the
	university of Evora and other invited teachers
Diplomas: Students will get a diploma at the end of the course. They can
	also enrol in a final exam
Accomodation: From 1320 Portuguese Escudos(PTE) per night (in rooms with 
		four beds) up to 5000 PTE.If you find a room in a family
			it will be circa 25000 per month
Food: University canteen: only 300 PTE
Restaurants: from 900 PTE up to 3000 PTE

Registration: 2500 PTE
Tuition:
 --Basic Level	35000 PTE
	 --Advanced Level 55OOO PTE

The registration and tuition payments must be made prior to admission.
The registration payment will not be refunded under any circumstances
The examination fee is 3000 PTE

			CARACTERISTICS OF THE COURSES
Basic Course: 20 hours per week
Attendees: students who have not yet attained basic communication skills
Objectives: to acquire a linguistic and communicative competence
	 leading to a participation in any daily activity in
	 spoken and written Portuguese.
Advanced level/ Curso avancado: 30 horas por semana
Destinatarios: estudantes que desejam aprofundar os seus 
		conhecimentos nas areas da lingua, literatura, cultura,
		linguistica e historia de Portugal 
Objectivos:Aprofundar as competencias linguistica e comunicativa. Adquirir
		conhecimentos nas areas acima referidas e dos paises lusofonos.
